Should You Conduct an Open House or a Private Inspection?
When advertising your property for rent, potential tenants will want to take a look at the property in person to be able to get a better assessment. There are two types of property viewings, an open house and private inspections. Which one suits your property best?
Open inspections
This is considered to be a convenient property inspection method. Have the property open for viewings at a specific date and time and prospective tenants can just stop by and check on the property. The open inspection is advertised beforehand so those interested are notified. The advantage with an open house is saving time on your part with multiple potential applicants coming through in one day.
Inspections by appointment
The advantage of a private viewing is that it allows you to conduct a screening prior to the inspection. This way, you will have an idea as to whether the property is suitable for the tenant’s requirements. The applicant can get to know the property better and likewise, you can get to know more about them.
You can easily use software for tenants to book an inspection online so they can choose the time and date that would fit with their schedule.
When deciding which inspection method to go for, what’s important is you choose the one that will suit the prospective tenant’s requirements whilst ensuring the safety of your property.
