How Working from Home Is Impacting Rental Trends
The work from home set up has been a growing trend in the last year. How is this affecting rental trends?
Experts have identified the features tenants are seeking in rental properties that are suited to working from home.
Renters do not want to be using their dining room table as a desk or taking work calls in the living room for the long term. There could be increased demand for properties with large open plan areas as this allows for a more comfortable workspace. Similarly, interest may surge in upgrading to a two or three-bedroom house or apartment to provide tenants with a dedicated home office.
Fast NBN connection or 5G internet will be critical to tenants working from home. Demand for properties further away from the CDB and closer to lifestyle suburbs close to the beach, restaurant strips, parks and rivers may also increase as the need to be close to the office reduces.
As lockdown restrictions are constantly changing, tenants want a sense of stability at home and are likely to pay a higher rent for properties that provide them with amenities that promote a work from home lifestyle. For more property management tips and news, check out our videos www.rentalresults.com.au/videos
